AThis hymnis tothe thoth.
chapter of Goals:
Come to me, Thoth, O noble Ibis,
O god who loves Khmun;
O letter-writer of the Ennead,
Great one who dwells in ON!
Come to us and give us counsel,
Make us skillful in your calling;
Better is your calling than all callings,
It makes (us) great.
He who masters it is found fit to hold office,
We have seen many you have helped;
They are now among the Thirty,
They are strong and rich through your help.
You are He who offers counsel,
Fate and Fortune are with you,
Come to us and give us counsel,
We are servants of your House.
Let us tell you of your valiant deeds,
Wheresoever we may be;
Then the multitudes will say:
"Great are they, the deeds of Thoth!"
Then they'll come and bring their children,
To assign them to your calling,
A calling that pleases the lord of strength,
(The Great Work) Happy is He who performs it!

yea, Happy is He who performs it!
Aumgn Aumgn Aumgn.

Membership in the Temple of Annu does not mean that you are giving up your soul or that you are giving anything at all. On the contrary, it means that you will recieve things. Qabalah comes from the root word QBL meaning, "to recieve". The Temple of Annu will never ask you to give anything in return except for mutual respect, open mindedness, and dedication to your obligations. As far as layperson are concerned, laziness is not yet an issue. At this low level it is left up to the discrimination of the Layperson. As long as the prescribed exercises are performed membership may continue. But if you wish to go beyond Laypersonville, you got to expect a whole lot of work ahead of you. And stick with it come hell or high water.
