My "Our Father" Commentary

A form of the Cabalistic Cross is as follows.

Our Father, who art in the Heavens(the inner world of the heart. The Father is the unification of the Holy Trinity, that is the three powers which are in man. In alchemy we are referring to the Salt, Sulphur, and Mercury. While in Yoga we are referring to: "The three gunas comprise: Sattwa, the upward tendency, which is conformity to the pure essence of being — light, knowledge and purity; Rajas, the outward tendency, which constitutes the natural urge to expansion on any given plane of being; and Tamas, the downward tendency, which is darkness or ignorance." –The Three Gunas in History, from The Feminine Universe)

Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come(This is a supplication to god to bring enlightenment upon us all, whether we desire it or not.)

Thy Will be done(His will is for our enlightenment.)

On earth as it is in heaven(All who live in heaven are enlightened, divinely illumined beings, the prayer is asking for this to occur in the material world as well.)

Give us this day our daily bread(Our bread shall be every word that comes out of the mouth of God, thus, saving words which bring about enlightenment.)

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors(This introduces the idea of sacrificing our own patience and longsuffering in order to obtain God's favor. "Sacrifice a sacrifice of righteousness to Adonai" and "A broken heart and a humble spirit, God will not despise." It seems obvious to me, that at the time of David, God was speaking through the psalmist Himself against the sacrifice of blood, unless it be the blood of the aspirant.)

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. (That is, "lead us in the way of goodness" and bring our hearts to overcome the passions to attain dispassion, which is what christ desired for every aspirant and therefore every human being is meant to be a saint, everyone but saints are disobedient children.)

For thine(Touch the forehead with the three fingered sign I showed you)

is the Kingdom (Touch the stomach)

and the Power (Touch the right shoulder)

and the Glory (Touch the left shoulder)

Both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
