These are steps towards advancement, that's all. Sometimes there will be no initiation ritual, as in step 1, because sometimes only prayer or meditation(whatever you call it) is necessary. But you will always need to perform a formula. Sometimes you will have to perform it many times over in order to achieve the desired alchemical success. Meaning, the required change in conciousness. The idea is to change oneself from a human being to something MORE THAN HUMAN.
A Magician is someone who has changed parts of theirself into something more. What you will find on this website is a whole bunch of odds and ends, part of a living patchwork, a living grimoire if you will, and its arrangement is my brainchild. Everything you find here is easily found on the net by someone who can use google. But, the way it is presented here is unique and to be found nowhere else.
Usually when someone says "goetic" instantly people begin to think about the book of magick called "The Goetia of Solomon". For future reference, this is NOT what i'm necessarily talking about when i say "goetic". What I mean is, "Goetic Magick is the sanctification and celebration of symbols recieved by divine revelation", as redefined by myself. All the old books referred to as "grimoires" are goetic in nature.If i knew how, I would rename this page heading to Goetic Magick instead of "Hermetic". But one should not deny the inherent hermetic nature in goetic traditional magic, if there can be such a thing. It sounds a bit like a misnomer or a contradiction to say, "goetic traditional magic" since it is normall created BY oneself FOR oneself. Nonetheless, there has somehow been passed down through the ages various books of goetic magic, some have been termed grimoires, some have been termed sutras or papyri, the names do not matter. All works recieved by divine revelation are somehow goetic. Their influences vary greatly, as can be seen in the holy writings and symbology of all the world's religions.One should not assume that just because it is called "goetic" that it is inherently evil, though it is a dark path because of the fact that we do not percieve the light to begin with. So, it stands to reason that we begin in darkness. Therefore, the beginning symbols chosen in this art are dark. But, the ending is in Light, as said above.

1. in darkness,
2. ability to see the light,
3. mastering the use of the light in physical magic effects,
4. union with the light, and seeing it in a new way.

Let Him study in the Ladder of Divine Ascent and discover the means whereby he may obtain Virtues suitable for Divine Kingship.
Let Him study further, the Mythos prescribed in Step 1.

Let The Master study deeply every aspect of that which he has learned thus far, make a record of it, and finally expoound upon it and deepen His knowledge of all things real or imaginary. The Path of a Master is not a light undertaking for is it the Path of Balance.
Therefore if he shall banish, let Him wear a Magick Ring on His right forefinger, and a dagger in his left hand.
If He shall Invoke let the Ring be on the left forefinger, and the Wand in the Right Hand.
Let the Him build to the Gods and God a Temple of the Magick of Light, which shall have some Patron Deity of Egyptian origin. But He will do all of this according to the Key of Solomon.
Let Him further advance in the Art of Pathworking and complete as many revolutions of all Paths as necessary to understand properly.
At this time he must discuss all with the High Priest of Annu and submit to various examinations in order to be admitted to the last step, as it says in the Key of solomon, "Any art or operation of this kind will not be able to attain its end, unless the master of the art or exorcist, shall have this Work completely in his power, that is to say, unless he thoroughly understand it, for without this he will never attain the effect of any operation."

Beyond all this is the grand finale of all Magickal Operations. The coming together of the small and the great so that both can unite and experience an adventure beyond the imagining abilities of both Priest and Angel.
When Christ was born it is said that even the angels were astonished that the creator of all things would become united with the form of a Man. There is no rule except that beforehand He must have the ability perform Liber Astarte with great effects upon His person. He shall tremble before the Gods and Invoke His place among them and so Love shall cast out fear(Which was only natural for Him to have in the first place. Consider you the fear of being faced with a deep cavern and the possibility of falling to your death. This is only natural, but must be overcome). Thus, the Elder Gods will take their place in His Heart as He has taken His place within theirs, and the Great God will bless His place in the West with Life Everlasting.

Be bored and fight against the boredom and deny your false self, and work, complete this work that is the most difficult of any work possibly for a man or woman to achieve. Pray like a flaming seraph. Discuss with your guide. Let Thoth be with Him on the day of His Rising.

Study this book until you can replay the entire thing in your mind fairly easily from memory. Finally, having prepared all things let him commense the Grand Cabalistic Operation of all times!
